Sad tragedy of a faded kiss
old memories and the things I miss
cold hard truth, as time it flies
our blood , our life, maudlin lullaby
as the freight train full of memories
keeps rolling down the line
I open box cars one by one
so sadly in decline
they stretch off in the distance
so faded at my birth
an early one comes to mind
the huge cranes on the docks in Perth
the pages of the family album
are fading as old is new
those selfie snapshot , face book smiles
are all I see of you
all the photos sit there undisturbed
as children see life anew
then I hear your voice across the miles
and I’m glad for I love you too
